About Our Guitar Lessons

Do I need any previous experience to start guitar lessons?

No. Our lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as students who already have some experience. Every lesson is tailored to your current ability and personal goals.

We teach students from approximately eight years old through to adults of all ages. Lessons are adapted to suit each individual’s experience, learning style and pace.

We offer one-to-one guitar lessons covering acoustic guitar, electric guitar, beginner tuition, adult lessons and children’s lessons across a variety of musical styles. Explore our lessons to learn more.

Yes. Lessons can focus on either acoustic or electric guitar depending on your interests and goals.

Lessons can cover rock, pop, blues, jazz and folk, along with many other styles depending on the music you enjoy playing.

Yes. Many of our students begin with no previous musical experience. Lessons focus on building confidence while learning songs you enjoy, before introducing more advanced techniques and music theory.

How long are guitar lessons?

We currently offer 30-minute lessons and 1-hour lessons. The most suitable option will depend on your age, experience and learning goals. View our current lesson prices for details.

Your first lesson is an opportunity for us to understand your goals, assess your current ability and begin building a personalised learning plan. You’ll also have the chance to discuss the music you’d like to learn.

Yes. Every lesson is delivered on a one-to-one basis, allowing us to tailor every session to your individual progress and musical interests.

Yes. Many adult students begin lessons later in life or return to playing after many years away. We tailor every lesson to your experience and confidence level. Learn more about our adult lessons.

Equipment & Preparation

Do I need my own guitar?

No. Our studio is fully equipped with guitars, amplifiers and learning materials, so you don’t need to bring your own instrument to get started.

If you already own a guitar, you’re welcome to bring it with you. Otherwise, we’ll provide the equipment you need during your lesson.

Yes. If you’re unsure which guitar is right for you, we’re happy to offer practical guidance to help you choose an instrument that suits your needs and budget.

Where are lessons held?

Lessons take place at Brian’s Guitar Studio in Cramlington. You can find our location and contact details on our contact page.

Yes. Many students travel from surrounding areas across Northumberland to attend lessons.

Lessons are available six days a week. To discuss availability, please contact us directly.

Are you a qualified guitar teacher?

Yes. Brian is registered with the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT), demonstrating a commitment to recognised standards in music education.

Yes. We welcome younger students and tailor lessons to their age, ability and interests, helping them build confidence while enjoying the learning process.
